Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body.
98% of it is found in the bones, 1 % in the teeth and the remaining 1% is found in the body's fluids and cells.
This 1 % is important to the body chemistry.
There is a continuous movement of calcium between the skeleton and the blood and other parts of the body. Hormones control these movements.

The skeleton of a young man contains about 1.2 kg of calcium, 1 kg for a woman.
