300 g red lentils
400 ml water
150 g grated cheese
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
2 large eggs
100 g fresh breadcrumbs
1 1/2 tsp mixed dry herbs
1 1/2 tblsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper
Oil for frying |
Wash the lentils.
Drain the lentils and put them into a pan with the water.
Cook until they are tender and the water has been absorbed.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Mix the cooked lentils with the cheese, onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, herbs, salt and pepper, and the lemon juice.
Mix well and shape into balls.
Fry the balls for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper and serve immediately.
